Who We Are pg 2...
The advantages of The Enoch Olinga College of Intercultural Studies, Inc. extends even further than benefiting developing countries. Students and faculty in the developed world can participate in Olinga College and enjoy the enriching experience of learning from and teaching people from many parts of the world. The global student body, faculty and curriculum of Olinga College offer people in the developed world a perspective outside the dominant, Western-oriented paradigm of most higher education. Olinga students and faculty thus will be able to interact with their associates through this truly global paradigm, and thus help foster the international intercultural understanding the contemporary world has promised but only partially fulfilled.
Enoch Olinga, the namesake of this college, was a native of the African nation of Uganda who traveled throughout the continent and the world spreading the teachings of the Baha'i Faith, a global religion that seeks to bring together people of every race, ethnicity, nationality, class, and religious background into a truly world-wide culture and society. It is thus only fitting that The Enoch Olinga College of Intercultural Studies, Inc. should be named after a man who traveled widely, spreading the Baha'i message: "The earth is but one country and mankind its citizens".
The Enoch Olinga College of Intercultural Studies, Inc. is creating a social awareness of responsibility to society and begin to transform developing nations to developed nations without the brain drain which is so common in the pursuit of knowledge and economic resources.
